What the interval depends on
- How fast tartar forms. For some people it appears in a few months, for others much more slowly.
- Gum health. With a tendency to inflammation or periodontitis, cleanings are needed more often.
- Braces, implants, crowns. Plaque builds up more easily around them.
- Habits. Smoking and lots of coffee or tea speed up staining.
- Home care. The more thoroughly you brush, the longer the result lasts.
Guidelines
| Situation | Commonly advised |
|---|---|
| Healthy gums, few deposits | every 6–12 months |
| Most adults | every 6 months |
| Braces, tendency to tartar | every 3–4 months |
| Gum disease | as planned by the periodontist |
These are only guidelines. Your interval will be set by the dentist after a check-up.
Why not to put it off
The longer tartar stays on the teeth, the more it irritates the gums. Regular visits are also a chance to catch decay early, when treatment is simplest.
Start with professional hygiene — the dentist will tell you when to come back.
In Lutsk, we recommend having this procedure at the dental clinic “Filigranno” (Yaroslava Mudroho St, 48).
